January 2016- Healthy movin' and shakin'

After a busy boozy Christmas back home in Ireland, I came back to New York in January hoping to just lay low and do what you do most in January..be a broke, fit, sober, healthy human being. Thankfully my fellow New Yorkers were feeling my penny pinching, health kick, so cinema, yoga and tea dates ensued! I am so glad to be back documenting what happens every month, because for the most part, I often feel weeks fly into months and before I know it, I am at the end of the year wondering what I really got up to all year and why my endless lists of ideas, hopes and dreams are not been firmly ticked off the list!? So heres a round up of January's fun and frolics.

Where I went out to eat/drink/dance:
-Whitman and Bloom
-Gotham west market (Best Ramen Ever!)
-Rachel and Kevin's apartment
-After 30 days of zero booze consumption I decided I had enough and had a girly cocktail sorta night at Le Bain at the Standard hotelPHD rooftop at the Dream hotel.

What I ate most of
I have spent way to much money this month @juicegeneration on acai bowls - obsessed!
and attempted some healthy recipes at home from DeliciouslyElla.

Where I sweated most..
In Jan, I did a total of 14 classes thanks to Classpass. I am really loving the plethora of classes across so many disciplines. Totally recommend for people like me who need variance in how they move.
3x Spins @FLYWHEEL
3X Hot Yoga classes @BIKRAMNYC
2x Barre classes @Exhale
3x Sculpt classes
1 X Hip hop class with Wayne Mitchell @Chelsea studios
1x restorative yoga class & 1x mindfulness (Ayurveda) workshop @NaamYoga

What I watched/read/listened to/got lost in...

-Making a Murderer, documentary: A lot of shady facts/controversy about the investigation/trial, but the fact still remains the very last place the victim was seen was with Steven Avery....thats all I'm saying!
The Martian, Film. No clue how this has been categorised as a comedy..more a slightly humorous unnecessarily long yet easy breezy watch at home- side note Kristin Wiig is so mis cast it's actually funny.
The Wolfpack: Doc. Off beat fascinating watch of a family who grow up  as their fathers prisoners in their own home on the Lower East Side, New York. Fails to go deeper into the darker side of the story but a worthwhile watch nonetheless.
Room: Such a super dark story, so well acted and directed and particularly cool sound design. Certainly Oscar worthy!
Dalai lamas Cat By David Mitchie: Purrfect book for someone into understanding more about conscious living/mindfulness and like cats..
My ears also enjoyed, Rihanna's new album, Anti and I went to see a mates band called 79.5 @chelsea market- groovy disco vibes!

What Sucked this Month..
Loosing my family dog Dixie who died unexpectedly.
We all loved him very much, Especially Dad. RIP Dixie doo!

What the weather did this month..
